How to print a QR so it scans well
A QR that looks fine on screen can fail on paper. These checks help before you print a batch.
Keep enough empty space around it
Leave a clear margin around the code. If text or photos sit too close, phones struggle to find the corners.
Make the modules dark on a light background
Black or near-black on white (or a very light colour) works best. Low contrast — grey on beige, neon on neon — often fails outdoors.
Do not print it tiny
For stickers and flyers, aim for at least about 2 cm on the short side. Bigger is safer if people scan from further away.
Test on a real phone before the full run
Print one copy, scan with the phones you care about, then print the rest. Fix size or contrast first if the test fails.
